Alright. So I spent a week posting either meaningless bullshit on here or not posting at all. I have been a bit busy but not too much so. I am not sure why I haven't really felt like blogging. But let's see... what's been going on? Hmmm. Last weekend I actually booted up and played (or tried to) rugby in a B-side match for the first time since June. It was a lot of fun, when I wasn't exposing my ass... long story... trust me, not a pretty scene. However, it did seem to amuse my teammates on the sideline. The day was a good one as our Blue-side once again beat Suffolk 23-17, proving that the first time we beat them was not a fluke. For those who want to be thoroughly entertained, I am actually playing for a Gotham Alumni side in the East Coast Invitational on 11/13 on Randall's Island.
The past work week has been extremely busy yet productive. We submitted two proposals as part of our mad dash to close business in Q4. Hopefully, we will find out this week that we got both pieces of business. I have one trip to Chicago this week to meet with a client over some potential business. I really would like to close some stuff soon so I can get paid on it before the end of the year.
Since our rugby match that was to be played yesterday was cancelled, JB and I decided to head out for a night out of ruckus raising on the town on Friday. First, we hit the Dugout where we met up with DB and BD. After watching the "Halloweenie" competition... yikes... we moved on to Ty's. All I can say is so much beef in such a little bar makes it difficult to move around and carry on conversations. So after a few beers, we moved on to the Eagle, which was hopping. It was nice because it was warm enough that they had opened up the rooftop deck.
I ended up getting home in the wee-hours of the morning on Saturday. After a few hours of sleep, I hauled my ass out of bed determined to not waste away a beautiful Halloween weekend. I then went and hung out with a friend in NJ for the afternoon. After that I stopped by and picked JB up on the way back into the city. We then hooked up with AL, SK, EP and PR to go see "Saw", which despite really bad acting was actually very entertaining. It was a great movie to see on Halloween weekend. Then we went to a Halloween party thrown by him and his partner. It was very nice and the view from his roof of the Manhattan skyline shrouded in fog last night was fantastic. After a while we all headed off to the Eagle.
Have I told you how much I hate how the breeders who have taken over the neighborhood where the Eagle is located. With the addition of Crowbar, Quo and Scores to the block where the Eagle used to stand alone has come a huge migration of SJWT (straight Jersey white trash). Last night there were so many people on the block for the straight clubs that the city actually brought in a huge police presence and literally shut down the block. They would not let anymore people even enter the block. After some maneuvering and negotiation by EP, we were able to sneak onto the block and get into the Eagle. Dear Lord, things were interesting there! We ran into CB there and basically hung out on the roof, except for a few voyeuristic trips to the second floor. It ended up being another late but thoroughly enjoyable night.
Today, it is almost time to turn into a zombie rugger (I know, not overly creative but simple and not much work) with a bunch of teammates for the Parade in the West Village and a party that many of us are going to. JB is doing his make-up artist magic today, so we should look pretty decent. So it should be yet another late but fun night.
