When I was in Pennsyltucky for Easter, I rummaged through my mom's photo collections. I brought back a bunch of photos that I wanted to scan and print out copies of to have framed for my apartment. These are two that I found of my paternal grandparents Albert Elsworth and Maude Viola. One picture was all cracked, torn an bent. I used my very limited Photoshop skills to try to restore it. I didn't do a great job, but it is better and I think good enough to print and put in a frame.
I will post some more of them as I go through and scan them. I love old family photos, even other peoples. I like seeing history being displayed through real people who are related to me or others that I know.

We've found many old family photos in the past year. In time, I'd like to sit and go through all of them. For now, they're just getting put away somewhere safe. I just hope I can figure out who all of these people are!

Hey Johnny- send me an email with your grandparents names/birtdates and their parent's names- I can send you the census pages for them for 1930 and earlier.

sometimes I get so depressed looking at old and new family photos.(maybe especially the new - with new neices & nephews being added almost annually). It's like the history stops dead for me - I always thought I would have kids & still desperately want to - but with finally admitting I'm a gay man I don't see that happening. I know there are "options" but I have surprisingly conservative and traditional viewpoints on that - I strongly believe that kids really should be born into a stable hetrosexual relationship (dare I say to happily married parents too!)- too many gay men want kids as vanity objects - look at Micky Jackson!
I think for us we just have the past family tree to cling to & good for you for sharing that.... too many people just don't care about their roots & ancestors...

Your grandpa has a James Cagney look about him in that 1st pic & looking at your pic I see the resemblance - your eyebrows seem to be the same shape too!
